This “bug” is actually a land-dwelling crustacean known as an isopod, and is famous for its habit of rolling into a ball if threatened. Originally native to Europe and now found worldwide, it has a different name wherever you go. In English, common names include roly-poly, armadillo bug, cheesy log, butchy boy, boat-builder, slater, and chucky pig.
